Carvoeiro and the Southerm Algarve Region
Carvoeiro sits in the center of the southern Algarve region of Portugal. It's an old fishing village that evolved into a tourist town back in the '60's.
This sleepy little Mediterranean town of 3,000 residents explodes to 20,000 visitors during the summer. Enjoy a vibrant bar and restaurant scene as well as nightly music at a stage where the town's main square meets the beach!
Carvoeiro's main square sits directly below our apartment and is at the foot of the beach. (View video!) Depending on your timing, it's either a sleepy little beach town or a hopping tourist party destination!
You will see and greet Max, Sophia, and Natasha, your downstairs neighbors who operate the Atlantic View Restaurant and Bar, most days of your stay.
Max (2nd from left) moved to Portugal as a child from Brazil. He has been a mixologist as well as a restaurant and bar manager in Carvoeiro.
Sophia (center) grew up in a restaurant family in Belgium. You'll find that her grandmother's Flemish recipes - fused with Portuguese tapas - will become some of your favorites on the menu.
Natasha (left) is their - and our - dear local friend and associate. She welcomes everyone on the weekends with her positive energy.
The Atlantic View is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day except for Wednesdays. Expect to hear live music on Saturdays during the busy season!
